Developing Archicad standards will structure your process of working and embed your company knowledge. This means your staff can focus on the project instead of trying to answer questions about how to use the software or which tools to use in order to achieve the greatest value out of a BIM model.
These lessons go through a seven part course from an overview of a project template to setting up drawing defaults for drafting to creating modeling standards for developing a project to customizing schedules for listing project data. By establishing these standards from the start you save time and increase productivity on projects.
Part 1: Overview of a Project Template
Uncover the settings that are the foundation for creating an effective Project Template including Attributes and Tool Settings and the Navigator as well as using the Archicad Template .tpl file format.
Part 2: Understanding Project Preferences
Explore the settings and standards within an Archicad project file including Working Units, Levels, Dimensions, Project Info and other miscellaneous preferences.
Part 3: Setting Up Graphic Standards
Learn how to setup graphic standards for Archicad using Model View Options, Graphic Overrides, Pen Sets and other options to create different graphic output such as presentation drawings, background drawings and reflected ceiling plans.
Part 4: Defining Drawing Views
Discover how to standardize Views for a template including organizing the Navigator, how to create Saved Views, methods to organize Views and creating preset Views for Layouts.
Part 5: Creating Title Blocks & Layouts
Examine how to create and standardize Title Blocks & Layouts including the steps to defining standard Titleblocks, setting up auto-text to automate sheet project information and office standards for output of printing, PDF’s, DWG and other output formats.
Part 6: Setting Up Defaults & Favorites for Tool Settings
Master how to use and organize Favorites to define defaults for the Tool Settings and review how to use Worksheets to set up General Notes, Keynotes, Legends and other project information.
Part 7: Defining Building Schedules
Discover how to create custom building schedules including setting up Properties, review of schedule types, using Criteria to define the type of schedule and how to coordinate schedule information using Fields.
