ArchiCAD Online Learning

The instructors for LearnVirtual have both expertise in the building profession as well as expertise in the technology they teach. Below is a list of some of the instructors who teach the online classes:

Jeff Olken

• Jeff has focused on the implementation of Building Information Technologies throughout his career and has spoken at major industry events across the U.S. including the AIA convention, AEC Systems, and ArchiCAD University. He was formerly with Graphisoft U.S., Director of Technology with DNM Architects, and General Manager for TECbuild. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from UC Berkeley in 1993, and returned to teach ArchiCAD in 1994-1995. He earned his MBA in 2001.

Thomas Simmons

• He has spoken at major industry events including AEC Systems, AIA Desert Practice Conference and the AIA Monterey Design Conference. He has authored several books on Building Information Modeling, ArchiCAD and architectural technology. He was formerly the Director of Technology with the award winning firm of EHDD Architects, San Francisco. He earned a Masters of Architecture from UC Berkeley in 1988.

Matthew Brewster

• The founder of ARCHiDEAS, Matthew Brewster has been training design professionals since 2004. Based in Seattle, he has a background in architecture and offers ArchiCAD training and consulting services throughout the Pacific Northwest. Matt's focus is providing solutions for the architectural market and has helped a wide range of firms transition to new technologies.

Daniel Hruby

• Daniel is based in the San Francisco bay area and has worked with notable firms including BAR Architects. Daniel is very active in developing techniques and strategies for visualization with leading applications that include ArchiCAD, Maxwell Render, Artlantis and Moto. Olivier Pennetier

• Olivier works for DNM Architects in San Francisco and is a consultant for Bioclimatic Design. He offers consulting services in solar design, site & climate analysis and bioclimatic architecture. He is a LEED accredited professional. Olivier contributes to the online support forum for Ecotect, a Building Performance Analysis software.
  

Riyad Ghannam

• Riyad is a licensed California architect with 11 years of professional practice and ArchiCAD experience. He has worked on a variety of projects from multi-family housing to bridges, and created graphic presentations using ArchICAD and Artlantis for notable projects such as the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Replacement.
